Creating your first project
Blank board or AI chat builder: live workspace, then create the board when ready.
The new project page opens a blank board form. Prefer a drafted roadmap? Open the AI project builder: a full-height chat beside a live workspace that fills in title, phases, and starter tasks. Create the board when the workspace looks right.
Before you start
Have a rough answer ready to: What are you building, who is it for, and what stack or constraints matter? You can refine through chat; you do not need a perfect brief on the first message.
Paths
- Blank board (
/new-project) — Name the project (description optional) and open an empty kanban. A link below the form opens the AI builder. - AI project builder (
/new-project/ai) — Chat about the idea. The first reply usually fills title, roadmap, and starter tasks. Later replies should refine selectively or ask a clarifying question. Create the board with Create board, or say something like “let’s go” / “create it” when the workspace looks right.
After creation
- The roadmap appears under the project header; expand it to edit phase titles and descriptions (saved to
master_plan). - Starter tasks land in To do for sprint 1 (or the sprint the model assigned).
- You can rename, split, merge, or delete tasks—plans are not contracts.
- If something feels off, refine via the AI sidebar rather than restarting from scratch.
Tips
- Prefer verbs and outcomes in titles (“Ship OAuth callback URL” vs “Auth”).
- Keep one owner per task when collaborating informally; the UI may not enforce strict assignment yet.
- Mention stack and constraints early so the first tasks match how you actually work.
